Sometimes when I inadvertently hit an incorrect combination of keys, it
completely changes which letters are typed onto the screen. Where can I go
to rectify this - at present I have to reboot computer.

This is not a Windows Media Center issue, repost to the general group of
what ever version of Windows your using, and provide more info, is this a
laptop, what is the key combo your hitting, etc. If this is a laptop your
likely turning on NumLock by mistake.
