Oops, I messed up in my earlier post and was unable to cancel. My bad.
Anyways, trying again:

Hi all,

My father's new Palm Palm Treo 680 needs Java like his default Web
browser. Where can I get it and hotsynch it to install it for his
default Web browser? I don't see it on
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and Palm CD so maybe I am
looking at the wrong places?

Thank you in advance. :)

A google search turned up two promising sites. I hope they help.

Thanks for the reply, Mark. One of your links led me to
http://www.palm.com/us/support/jvm/download.html but its WebSphere
Everyplace Micro Environment was posted on 2/9/2005 and device
requirements last updated on 10/27/2005. This is over a year old and
doesn't say if Treo 680 is supported. Is it safe to install into a 680
even though 600 and 650 are mentioned?

I don't want to hose my dad's new PDA and I don't know much about PDAs
to know if this is safe or not. Thank you in advance. :)

Like I said, I just did a search for you and passed along the
results. **I haven't done it myself.** Some people claim it
works, but that's no guarantee that it's safe or reliable:

In general, if you hose a PalmOS-based PDA you can reinitialize
it to the factory defaults and start from scratch, wiping out
the contents. You should understand that process before you
consider major software changes:
