Hi,

is it possible to issue a logon or user certificate using Enterprise CA in
Windows 2003, which is secondary on the smart card. The smart card already
have primary certificates and possibly other secondary certificates that
should *not* be removed.

I've read
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/library/ServerHelp/17a1f58e-b176-4389-ab45-6aa3a314b5ef.mspx,
but step 12 tells me to replace existing credentials.

Could someone please clearify this for me?

Best regards

Hi.

The sc enrollment control will prompt the user if the smart card already has
a logon cert. If the user accepts the new cert, the existing cert will be
written over. I believe the ability to have multiple logon certs per smart
card is a planned feature for Longhorn, but this may be subject to change.

HTH, Les
