Hi everybody,

My company doesnt use Outlook so we dont have it installed in our
laptops. I have a smartpone running WM6 which syncs ActiveSync with
outlook.
Does anybody knows of a replacement that I can use to sync with
ActiveSync but not to Outlook?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

ActiveSync only works with Outlook.

Not sure exactly what you are asking. Does your company use some other PIM
(contacts, calendar, etc.) software? Or are you asking for one to be
recommended, other than Outlook. In either case, AS will not sync with it.
It only works with Outlook. If you are not now using something else, you
might consider Outlook. If you are using something else, what, would be a
useful thing to provide. There are third party options that 'extend' AS to
other PIMs like Palm Desktop, Lotus, etc. One such is Intellisync. That only
works with AS thought, as opposed to WMDC on Vista. I know of no options for
Vista users at this time, other than WMDC and Outlook for PIM syncing.

Can you please be more precise on the "etc." ?

What do you mean ? Can you be more precise, please;

IntelliSync seems to be a business solution :

He means that _all_ 3rd-party sync solutions still use Activesync as the
underlying conduit to transfer information to and from the PPC. They "ride
on top of" Activesync rzther than replace it.

One could argue that Windows Mobile itself is also considered a "business
solution."

There's certainly no "free" (or even low-cost) add-ons or substitutes for
Activesync that I'm aware of. And the sync add-ons themselves are so
pricey (Intellisync is $70, IIRC) that the average user is often better off
just switching to Outlook for the $100 or so (if it wasn't already included
with the device.)
