I'm looking at several different notebook computers with dual core
processors in the 2 gigahertz range. Given everything else being equal,
my question is; Is there any difference in performance between a 2
gigahertz Intel chip and a 2 gigahertz AMD chip?

No. If there were *significant* differences, one platform would be
noticed on the tech sites. Frankly, the overhead with Microsoft Vista
(R)(C) is enough to deal with.
