Hello,
I'm a bit of a n00b with this CGI and web-server stuff..
But I decided to download and try to install the W3C validator (along
with the error definitions).. I followed most of the instructions from the
W3C website, but I got confused towards the end and went my own way about
it.. I installed all the requirements, properly, I think. So, I configured
it and all, and it seemed to work fine... However, when I tried to
validate a page on my apache web-server, it said that it wasn't valid HTML
4.01 Transitionsal, but when I use the W3C's validator
(http://validator.w3c.org), the same page is valid HTML... So, I used my
local validator and tried to validate http://www.w3c.org (I was online
when I done this) it said that "This page is not Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict",
when, I believe, it should be... Underneath this message was this: "Below
are the results of attempting to parse this document with an SGML parser."
But it doesnt display any results (this happened when I tried to validate
the W3C site, and my local webpage)!
So, I'm gessing that it has something to do with the SGML parser or my
SGML definitions.
I have checked over my config files a few times and everything seems grand..
Anyone know what could be going wrong?
Thanks,
piratePenguin

Where exactly did you download this from ? Could you post the URl. Did you
get it from CVS ?
