No matter what I try, I cannot get Windows Desktop Search to index .one
files. All files in the "My Notebook" folder are selected. I have also
tried rebuilding the index.

Can anyone help?

I noticed this when I had the Onenote file password protected. The indexer
respects the password I think. When I took off the password, it worked.

Is OneNote installed on the computer that's trying to index the file? We
don't include Office IFilters but Office/OneNote does.

So as long as OneNote is installed, those files should be indexed.

Yes, it is Brandon. I've tried rebuilding the index and reinstalling
OneNote. Any other ideas?

Seems to be working fine on my system. Do you have the Notebook stored in a
hidden folder?

If you search for the filename... do you find it?

Without the IFilter installed, the file itself should still be indexed - so
searching by the filename should work regardless. If that doesn't work, then
the indexer isn't even finding your file (Either it's not in the list of
directories to be indexed, it's in a hidden/system folder, or .ONE is in the
exclude list).

If it does find it by searching for the filename or *.one but not by
searching for something contained in the file - then there's most likely a
problem with the IFilter registration.
