: I install cygwin and I can't solve a 'no absolute path for bash' issue, too
: trivial for
: the faq.
:
It depends on who is asking for "an absolute path to bash".
If they are being precise, the problem is that the app can't
find a path name like "/bin/bash", assuming that "bash" is located
in the "/bin" directory, of course.
An "absolute pathname" should be synomnous with a "fully
qualified pathname", and as such, it should start with a "/"
(none of the "\" nonsense windoze uses! (-: ) and end with the
name of the object, in this case, "bash", with each and every
directory listed in between.
Hope this helps with cygwin.
