Hello everyone:
Last week I wrote about the backlight in the LCD of an IBM T21.
I was able to take it all apart and checked the wires, no luck.
I want to test the output of the inverter, and I wonder what voltage I
should get from there. I have a nice voltmeter/oscilloscope so I can check
the frequency as well. I don't know where to find the specs, though, so I
was wondering if somebody can help me on that.

Be extremely careful. The inverter output is extremely high voltage and
can seriously injure or kill you. It's typically in the range of 800 to
1,600 volts, up around 10 - 20 KHz, current availability is in the range
of 5 ma to 20 ma. There is quite a bit of variability depending on the
exact machine and configuration.

This is no part of a laptop for an amateur to be fooling around with,
again, the voltages in the inverter can be very dangerous.
