Hello,
I am using activesync 4.5 and WM2003 version 4.21. I don't want to
synchronise but more to copy my tasks, calendar and contacts from my outlook
2003 into my mobile device. I used to have this option in old activesync
(instead of synchronise, to copy the PC info into the mobile) but not
anymore. Anyone knows what version of activesync I should use ?
thanks

Hi,

ActiveSync 4.5 is compatible with mobile devices running WM 2003. However,
it isn't clear what you are looking for. Could you explain it further with
some more details?

Or are you referring to the Guest mode connection which allows you to copy
files, install/uninstall programs and perform backup/restore but doesn't
allow synchronization of any PIM information type (Inbox, Contacts, Calendar
and Tasks)?

It sounds like he's saying that he *never* wants to sync items from the
device back to the PC; always copy from PC to device only (for some reason).

Hi,

The Original Poster sent me a mail with the following text:

To the Original Poster :

I am assuming you are not getting the Combine or Replace dialog anymore
after you delete the partnership as you used to do it earlier and that is
the issue you are facing. Can you confirm?

Either way since you never add a contact on the PPC, this approach of
deleting the partnership every now and then need not be done. You can keep
it in sync with the updates happening only via the computer to PPC as long
as all the additions and updates to contacts is done on the computer side
only.

Hi,

thanks a lot, I have sorted the problem. I was actually trying to use
activesync only in one direction, that is to always copy the files from the
PC to the device like Paul interpreted. Now I have solved the problem and do
a proper sync all the time.

I'll add that I have downgraded the version of activesync from 4.5 to 3.8
because I had this rapimgr.exe which was taking all my processor ressources
almost all the time. It is now much better.

thanks
