Hi, All:

So a stolen laptop means a new laptop...and I'm ready to get another
Powernotebooks.com PowerPro C 3:17 (ASUS-made). Just wondering if
there's anything out there which bests this machine, all things
considered....

Here're my criteria, listed in order of feature desirability; what's
out there like this?

1 -- ABSOLUTE MUST -- long-battery life. The PowerPro C 3:17 lasts 3-4
hrs. when I do wordprocessing only. With a secondary, modular bay
battery total time is ~6 hrs.!!!

2 -- ABSOLUTE MUST -- weight. At 6.5 lbs. officially, the PowerPro C
3:17 isn't considered light, but I've never had a problem with it.
Still wouldn't like to go above this weight, though, since I usually
have books and papers with me in the bag, too, along with an iPod and
so forth.

3 -- FAIRLY IMPORTANT -- screen-size and resolution should be no less
than 14" and XGA, though I really like the 15" SXGA on the PowePro C
3:17.

TIA

With the 9-cell battery the T4x series will do ~7hrs.

14.1 " Thinkpads are at 4.5lb, so should be light enough

Get the 14.1" SXGA+ Thinkpad. At 1400x1050 and with a Radeon 9600
underneath, you should have no problems.

And lets not forget that although with IBM you'll pay more than others,
you will get IBM quality and service which is far better than anything
else on the market
