Hi All

I'm using Microsoft 2003 with Certificate Services (Authority). However, it
was all installed when I arrived here.

Is there any way in which I can tell if this is installed as an Enterprise
Root, Stand-Along, subornate, etc??

Thanks in advance!

Lambert

You need to look at the Certification Authority console.

1) To tell if it is a standalone or enterprise CA, look
for the Certificate Templates container in the console
tree. If it exists, the CA is an enterprise CA.

2) Look at the actual CA certificate. If the Issuer and
Subject are the same, the certificiate is a root
certificate. If different, it is a subordinate CA. If
you look at the Certification Path tab when viewing the
CA certificate, you can also tell if it is a root
certificate (only one in chain) or exactly where it
exists in the CA hierarchy (graphically)
