I have a Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-Fi card that supports 5.1 speaker
configuration. I have no problems with the card, or configuring the speakers
and it all works normally.

However each time I reboot the system, the default playback device
(Speakers) gets reset to 'Stereo'.

Is there some way it can be configured so that the default at bootup is the
5.1 speaker configuration?

I have the same exact problem.

I'm hoping someone has an idea of what is causing this.
