I'm stuck, need help please...

My Sony Vaio was able to recognize my new Hitachi 250GB SATA HD and I
verified it thru BIOS, but now Im stuck in the Disk Managment section. I had
accidently enabled the new hd as dynamic so I think that was wrong and found
out how to change it to basic. But now I don't know what to chose in regards
to partition type. Which one do I choose? Primary, Extended...??

I ask because I thought only one hd can have a Primary partition or am I
confusing it? Please help...thanks everyone!

Each physical drive will have a Primary partition. It may if you desire have
an Extended partition for additional "logical" drives.

For example If your new 250GB. drive is a secondary drive (your primary
being C:\ ) it could be set up with a primary partition of 100GB. (D:\) and
an extended partition of 150GB. containing two logical drives of 100GB.
(E:\) and 50GB. (F:\).

These are of course examples and approximations the numbers and proportions
are entirely up to you.
