 Hi all,


Is there a specific registry setting or any other method to
programmatically determine if WDS is installed on a PC?

If the reg key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Desktop
Search exist then you can be pretty sure it has WDS installed.

I wonder if an uninstall of WDS leaves this this in tree in the
registry.

Nope! Once you uninstall it successfully then the key does not exist
anymore.
