Hello,

I am new to internet marketing and I think I have made a terrible
mistakes.
I was thinking to sell antiques and I joined several affiliate
programs. I didn't study their products carefully and I try to sell
them as antiques.

There are some user groups that complained before I noticed my
mistakes.

How should I fix this?

Sincerely,

babi gendut

Perhaps the most important tip I can offer is this. People don't buy
products they buy 'benefits'.

For example, no one will buy an antique time piece. They will buy an
investment which will accrue value over years, or a beautiful
decoration which will enhance their home or self-esteem.

If you want to sell antiques, then sell antiques. Buy them at a low
price, and then sell them at a higher price. Don't think you can act
as a middle man to put buyers in contact with sellers and cream off a
commission, unless you're an auctioneer that just wont work.

Know your market. Do you know what people collect? Some people collect
Worcester figurines, others sugar nips (ask Not So Fat Sam, he knows a
bit about antiques). Put together a catalogue of your pieces,
professionally photographed (you can do this yourself), and publish
it.

You could start by sharing what the "complaints" were and what were the
mistakes you noticed. Perhaps even your website.

Something I would point out, is to treat this as a hobby. If you are selling
someone else's product by affiliate schemes then don't expect to make loads
of money (YMMV). If 0.5% of your click throughs (not even page views) gets a
sale then that's not bad. If you have the right ads and the right visitors
you might be able to raise that to a healthy few percent.

The complaints are saying that I promote antique items while in fact
(which is my mistake) it is not antique at all.
My web site is www.fasisi-antique-webstore.com

Can you explain what is YMMV?

YMMV = Your mileage may vary. Basically it means that your results may be
different from my results. For example if you and I both sign up for the
same affiliate scheme, you might make £20 a month whilst I only make £1 a
month - because we do things differently, our sites are different etc etc.
