Hi all,

I am using ActiveSync 3.8.0 together with PocketpC 2002 (WindowsCE 4.20).

Every now and then my iPAQ h4150 looses Avantgo functionality (and has to be
hard reset) or suffers from a spontaneous hard reset
(let's say after several months of working well).

Now, when after a hard reset I reconnect via ActiveSync (USB), the PC still
knows the former partnership identity, so I always have
to give my PocketPC a new identity. Up to now I think my PC has saved up to at
least 10 former partnership identities.

Does anyone know how to completely erase all traces of former partnerships from
my PC?

I have tried this extensively myself via searching / deleting the registry for
all entries that contain the former identity names,
but still ActiveSync holds them (probably within some database-files).

Of course I am sure that de/reinstalling of ActiveSync would solve that matter
but since this issue comes up from time to time I am
looking for a simpler way.

Thanks
Rolf

Hi,
Did you try opening ActiveSync and using File - Delete Partnership?

Hi Chris,

this will not work. Let me describe this:

If I connect my iPAQ with a "fresh" PC I will be able to choose an arbitrary
name for the partnership, let's say "My_iPAQ".
Then, after some time the iPAQ will have a hard reset. If I try to reconnect and
to choose "My_iPAQ" as name again, this will not
work since ActiveSync will report that this name is already in use.

So, to create a new partnership I will have to name it e.g. "My_iPAQ1".

If I disconnect the iPAQ then I will be able to delete the latest partnership
("My_iPAQ1"), but not any former ("My_iPAQ").

If I will reconnect with a guest partnership only I will not be able to delete
the former partnership.

Best regards

Rolf
