I have a HP Media Center PC that came with MS Works 8.0 installed. I can
sync Files and Favorites and am offered (Under Options in ActiveSync ver 3.8
or 3.7.1) Office Calendar. Contacts, etc. I don't want Office (I'm too
cheap) as Works is all I need.
One time, during setting up Active Sync it offered the Works Calendar,
Contacts but, I can't get it to reappear. I think there must be an one time
switch that makes Active Sync think it doesn't have Works files that need
synchronizing.
Anyone else having the same problem or seen the Works files being an option
under Options?
BTW, On my replaced system (RIP) I was able to synchronize the Works 7.0
files. It was running Win XP, SP2 and ActiveSync 3.7.1.
Regards,
George

Hi,
You can sync with Outlook Express using software from www.syncdata.it.
As for MS Works, there is no support per se. If you can save the files as
Excel and Word format the Pocket PC can read and write that instead. For
Word, you can try RTF (Rich Text Format) which the Pocket PC understands.

Please log in for more thread options Thanks Chris,
I downloaded the syncdata SyncExpress and even though it doesn't say it
supports Works 8.0 it works, no pun intended. It does not sync calendar
but, I can get along with out that if I have to.

George
