Hello everyone,

I'm trying to decide what mini SD card I can buy for my Audiovox SMT 5600
Smartphone. The manual states that this Smartphone has Windows Mobile
Smartphone 2003 AKU2 Update, Second Edition installed.

Currently I've seen a 4 Gig mini SD card for sale and was wondering if my
Smartphone will support it. I have tired using a 512mb and 2 Gig mini SD
card and they both worked fine, but I'm unsure if the 4 GB mini SD card will
work on this Smartphone.

Please answer the following questions:

1. Does it depend on the type of Smartphone I own or is it the operating
system installed on the Smartphone that dictates the capacity of the mini SD
card I can use?

2. How much memory can Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 AKU2 Update, Second
Edition address? What is the maximum amount? The Audiovox SMT 5600
according to the manual, states the following: Memory - ROM 64 MB
(Standard), RAM 32 MB (Standard) SDRAM. I currently have a 512mb mini SD
storage/memory card.

3. What type of file system is used by Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 AKU2
Update, Second Edition and how can I format the mini SD card to use this
file system? (Ex. Windows 95B introduced the FAT32 system. This file
allocation table system can address a hard drive that is 2 terabytes in
size)

4. Are all memory cards (In my case the mini SD card) preformatted and do
they all use a universal file system so a digital camera, MP3 player,
Smartphone, etc. can access and share data among them without problems? I
also have a digital camera and an MP3 player that can use the mini SD card
(need to use the SD adaptor that came with the mini SD card). I would like
to share the data among them by removing the mini SD card from one device
and inserting it into the next device without reformatting it each time.

Thanks to all who reply,

Ismael
