 I'm running windows mobile on a verizon xv6700. The phone has two
location settings, 911 only and everyone. I'm trying to read location
data from an app I'm writing. Can anyone point me in the right
direction? I don't care to read an external gps, but the phones
*internal* location data. How do you do this?

 Think the only way you are going to be able to do this is to contact the
providers and see if there is an api available....

afaik, no third party developer has done what you want to do... and many
are interested.

Hit google with the terms such as CELLULAR LOCATION POCKETPC GPS as,
several years ago, I was able to find several "solution providers" who
were targeting only the oems with implimentation of this technology.

Are you trying to read the data that the FieldTest app gives? This includes
the pages available after the GPS registry change.
