How can I change system attribute f.e. for file \Windows\rootgsm.cpl.xml
I want to edit this file, because in language localisation there are some
mistakes

Hi Peter,
I am also having a "localisation" problem with my QTek 8310.
Although it is a french version, the T9 dictionary appears to be only
english and I can't see where to select other dictionaries (as you can on
most cell phones).
Do you know if the system can hold several dictionnaries and if not what
file should I change in order to get it in french ?

Create new SMS, move cursor to text (sms body) and hold star key (*) for 2
seconds->now you can see popup menu and one item is something like "T9
Languages"->press right key (joystick move to right side)->now you can see
T9 language list->select "T9 French"

Does Smartphone have the ability to view the files on the phone using
file explorer during an activesync connection?

Based on experience with the pocketpc, and assuming that you have
already made the changes, try to overwrite the file using file explorer
on your pc while connected by activesync.

WinCE is strange on this, but if the file can't be directly overwritten,
it actually resides in rom even though it displays in main memory... it
has been a long time since I have tinkered with this, but third party
file explorers didn't have the ability to achieve this... only the pc's
file explorer.

I found solution for my problem:
1. PHM Registry editor (with HTC signature)
2. Change 2 values (I don't remember them)
3. Soft restart
4. Total Commander 6.03 or higher for Win32 with WinCE plugin and ActiveSync
4.1 (Windows Explorer doesn't work for it)

This way is ok.
