or where does WDS stores the "what I want to Index" part... and how can
I alter it not via the gui ?

 I don't know the answer to your questions, but on a related subject I'd like
to know:

How to index (or reindex) only a specific folder (e.g. in My Documents) and
optionally all subfolders NOW, either via the GUI or another method.

I know I can click Index Now, but that indexes everything I've chosen to
index in Desktop Search Options; I just want to index a specific folder.

Hi Tom,

I think you have the same question which i have just replied in one the
posts titled "Adding folders to index in WDS 2.65". Please have a look into
