How Do Release Numbers and Service Packs Relate? Scott 05-09-2007

Foolish question, I suppose but I am confused and have been unable to find
an authoritative answer. If one takes straight 2003 server and applies all
upadates including Service packs currently available, how (if at all) would
that differ from 2003 Server R2 fully patched with the same Service Packs
applied?

Hello Scott,

It will be different in the features you install with R2. R2 adds some more
functionalities like new DistributedFileSystem, File Resource management,
hardware management, share point and some other features. Patches and service
packs will be the same for 2003 and 2003 R2.

Best regards
