My phone is running Windows Mobile 5.0. If I have no calendar
appointments that occur today or tomorrow, the home screen displays "No
upcoming appointments." in the area for the calendar plugin. I would
like for nothing to be displayed if I don't have any upcoming
appointments.
In order to accomplish this I have tried modifying the following
registry key: HKCU\System\State\Appointments\HomeScreen\Subject. I
have changed the value of the Subject key from "No upcoming
appointments." to just being blank. This actually works, but only
temporarily. Nothing will be displayed in the calendar plugin area for
the time being, but after my next appointment gets displayed and then
is over with, it will go back to saying "No upcoming appointments." It
will also revert back if I turn my phone off and on. How can I make it
permanently be blank if I don't have any upcoming appointments?
I have also looked for a way to accomplish this in the home screen xml
file (I have customized my home screen by editing the file \Application
Data\Home\simple.home.xml). I know that at least one plug-in (call
progress) supports some attributes to not display anything in the
plug-in area if nothing is going on. <format state="nocall"
visible="false"/>. However, the calendar plug-in doesn't seem to
support this. I've checked on the following webpage which seems to be
the only real documentation for customizing home screens, albeit that
it's for an older OS version:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms839391.aspx#sp02homescreen_topic12
So, how can I make the registry change stick?
TIA
