I have a Treo 500v running WM6

I am using the Windows Deafult Homepage but would like to remove the Profile
Item. As I understand it this homepage is stored in an .xml file on the
machine somewhere. Is there any free software to enable me to edit this file
in a WYSIWYG format

Tahnx

And the answer is - find the .xml file in Application Data/Home and copy to
PC. Edit the file with Microsoft Front Page to remove the Profile Plug-in
and copy back!

As Onymouse mentioned, you just remove Profile area in homescreen theme
file.

Here is simple step:

1) copy ***.xml file that you used current theme located in \Application
Data\Home folder to desktop
2) Open ***.xml file w/ Notepad or other text/xml editor
3) Find Profile plugin section in XML file (For example, like below xml)

<!-- Profile Plugin -->
<plugin clsid="" name="profile"
height="22">
<background b-border-width="0">
        </background>
        <label bgcolor="transparent" y="1" x="5" fgcolor="#FFFFFF">
        <format state="unselected" font-weight="normal" />
        <format state="selected" font-weight="bold"/>
                        <text lang="0x0409">Profile: <profile/></text>
                </label>
</plugin>

4) Remove this area & Save xml file
5) Copy over to yor device.
