Hi all,
I use DotNET 2005.
However I have written many windows applications and webs, I am new to
smartphone or pocket pc application.
I never create a project of smartphone.

And, today I tried to create a project of smartphone through { file-
>new->project->smartphone2003->Device Application (1.0) }.
But an error occured and the project didn't create.
The error message is "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a
call to a COM component"

This error message is occurred on creating project of "pocket pc" and
"windows CE", too.

What is going on?
Please write me if you have any suggestion!

For developing .NET application for a Smartphone you need to create a "Smart
device" project.

And it is not the .NET framework but the .NET Compact Framework (.NET CF)
what is supported on Windows mobile/smartphones. .NET CF contains a subset
of the .NET framework.

Hope this helps,

Not sure how that would help with project creation failure.

To me, it seems like reinstalling the tools is in order. You can try
"repair install" first, but I bet it won't help. Not sure reinstall will
work, either. But it certainly seems like an installation problem.
