Hi all,
My Desktop Search has gone crazy generating error continuously and I need
help to remove it manually.
I have upgraded the MSN Toolbar to the latest. But for some other issue, I
had to do a system restore to some previous state.
After that, the Desktop Search has gone mad. It complains index corrupted
and rebuild. In doing so it generate an error and drwatsn32 log
Application exception occurred:
App: C:\Program Files\MSN Toolbar
Suite\DS.01.0000.2217\en-us\bin\windowssearch.exe (pid=1808)
When: 16/07/2005 @ 01:23:42.001
Exception number: 80000003 (hardcoded breakpoint)
Did it hit an INT 3?
What is worse is that after it pops up the customary send error report
dialog and after it has been dismissed, the damn things resurrected itself
and generated the same error, and is sitting in an infinite loop.
I could not load the tool bar and I could not uninstall the MSN Toolbar via
the Add/Remove program facility. I could not reinstalled as it was
complaining that it could not remove the older version, possibly caused by
my restoration.
Can someone please help me to uninstalled it manually so that I can start
afresh?
Please. You assistance is required.
