Obviously they are wired differently. Though 3.5mm jacks seem to be pretty
consistent, whether they are 3 or 4 conductor, I've found that the 2.5mm
ones are most certainly not. Do you just like the other headsets better than
the one that came with the 8125?
Can't tell you for sure if that XDA adapter will work. I can tell you that I
have 3 assorted HTC phone devices with 2.5mm 4 conductor jacks and all are
wired the same. (SMT5600, K-Jam (essentially what you have), SP5) I can
interchange the assorted headsets that came with them. My guess is the XDA
is/was wired the same, so the adapter has a good chance of working. That
assumes that there is a "STD 2.5mm standard mono headset jack", because
there certainly isn't a STD 2.5mm stereo headset jack.
