I guess I don't get it.
server.domainname.com resolves to the public ip address of my router. That
is how it is registered and how my external clients find it.
server.domainname.local resolves to the internal private ip.
So there are two full dns names.
What difference does it make because both go to the same server? And my
exchange (outlook) clients work fine the way it is, internally and
externally.
