So I have iMate SP3i with the latest firmware.
I have an ASUS W5 laptop with builtin bluetooth stack by Toshiba.
It runs Windows XP SP2 with all recent updates.
I can ActiveSync via Bluetooth and I can setup a Dial-up Networking connection
via bluetooth (ie. set up a bluetooth modem).
I can connect via GPRS to the Internet, it shows the status of connection and
all is ok.
I can send/receive email from a mail server (address: 195.xxx.xxx.xxx)
I CAN PING IP ADDRESSES (195.xxx.xxx.xxx)!!!
BUT I CANNOT PING WEB ADDRESSES (www.google.com)
When I start IE and go to www.google.com it says "The page cannot be displayed"
(dnserror).
Basically - it cannot resolve DNS names.
Same happens when using USB connection (HTC USB Modem).
Here is what MS says about this:
Your GPRS phone may not connect to the Internet
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;827539
AND stupidly there is no way to download the bloody hotfix!
Any ideas?
