"From This Location" not showing Domain PS 08-21-2006

My machine is part of the domain and I can log on as a domain user. No
problem.

I want to add a domain user to local admin group, so I logged on local
machine as admin. But I can't see the domain at "From This Location", which
displays only my local machine name.

Is this DNS problem? Or is it a setting problem? Or is there another way
of adding a domain user to local admin group?

Thanks.

Hi
Local users can only be members of local groups.
Select the group that you want, and make the Domain user member of that
group

If you cannot change the location to the Domain, then it is likely that you
are not using the correct DNS server in TCP/IP properties. You must use only
the internal DNS server that serves as the DNS server for the AD domain on
all AD Domain members. No external (ISP) DNS should be used in ANY position
of an AD domain member.

I pointed to the right DNS server, but it was not configured right. I
reconfigured the Forward Lookup Zones, and now I can see the domain from my
XP machine.

Thanks Kevin.
