I just purchased a Sony Video Camcorder (DCR-SR45) which has a 30 GB hard
drive. Of course, I of should have known things aren't as easy as they
appear. I just uploaded a bunch of video to my computer with the intention
of editing and burning a DVD. But I'm having a problem viewing the video
using the Picture Motion Browser software that comes with the Sony. I
"registered" the videos as required, but when I try to view I'm getting an
error. The Sony guide says if you have "free codecs or codec packs" you will
not be able to view video and they should be removed. I guess you could call
me technically challenged, because I have no idea how to check this or
resolve. I am running on Windows XP Home edition, version 2002, Service Pack
2. Can anyone guide me? Thanks,

You might go to one of the video groups in the wider Usenet, such as

rec.video
rec.video.desktop

etc.

where the people are more likely to be able to help.

Also, your question doesn't relate to Windows Media Center.
