Hello fella Planetarians.

I/we did geological explorations on the perimeter of the
Canadian Shield and found some unusual fossils.
This is where the Shield interfaces with limestone
that is predominate south of the Shield in southern
ontario.

The most interesting is a large (hemispherical 6" radius)
fossilized Fauna, that may have been composed of very
fine coral, it did not fit any explanation. It is surprisingly
hard, for it's apparent delicacy. It is rooted and/or well
attached in Canadian Shield rock or very close lime-
stone.
Approximately 100 feet away from that fossil is a group
of trilobites, embedded in that same rock that are thumb
size.

The interface of these two types of rocks (Shield/Limestone)
is geologically a puzzle, but the distinction is very apparent.

Based on superficial analysis, these fossils are 650 million
to 200 million years old.

We are enchanted that the delicate Fauna fossil survived
glaciaction however it did, perhaps perchance being buried
while that occurred.

Now I do want to preserve the Fauna fossil, that is currently
on private property, (~500 acre's for sale, by a detached
owner), and the many others on that property, or I could
remove those fossils myself.
However, it would be somewhat inappropriate for a fella
like myself to hammer out 300,000,000 year old fossils.
If that must be done, then it should be done be experts.

To the untrained eye, these things look like rocks in the
way that will soon be bull-dozed, for a pre-fab cottage.

What do you think I should do?
Regards
