IIRC, it's the PIM.vol file in the device's root directory. Unfortunately,
there's no way I'm aware of to extract the data, nor does simply copying
it to a new device work, since the PIM.vol file is always in use, so the
new device won't let you overwrite it.
Why doesn't the device sync? Getting it to sync would be the obvious and
easier solution.
