The graphics processor cooling fan on my 9-month old Toshiba Satellite
Pro P100 running Vista makes an excessive amount of noise. Instead of
just speeding up as more cooling is needed, it revs up to max speed
for a second or two, before slowing down again. At its worst this can
be every 15 seconds & gets very irritating in a quiet room.
Does anyone else have this problem, or has found a way to stop it?
My laptop has been back to Toshiba (or rather the awful Teleplan who
work on their behalf) a couple of times. And after 9 months of trying
to get the problem fixed, Toshiba have now announced that the fans are
designed to make this intrusive noise & nothing can be done.
I'd certainly not buy another Toshiba Satellite Pro running Vista, as
Toshiba say they all will make this noise now. I've not heard of any
other makes having the same problem - has anyone else so I know what
to avoid next time?
