External Links not showing. Doug Laidlaw 06-24-2005

I have a Web page at http://www.douglaidlaw.net/boykett/index.html which has
links to three outside sources:

(a) to the HTML editor, Nvu. This one works
(b) to a hit counter. This shows the text in the "ALT=" tag
(c) to a Web ring. This one shows nothing.

I get the same results on my ISP's site and on my Apache local server, with
3 different browsers, Konqueror and Mozialla 7 under Linux and IE 6.1 under
Win 98. But if I open a local copy of the file, everything is there. It
just doesn't make sense.

Any ideas please.

Lets look at the URL it points to:
http://www.douglaidlaw.net/boykett/counter.php

Internal server error. Look in your logs to debug it.

(The alt text doesn't make any sense though)

The actual link is burried in a <noscript> block, so you won't see it unless
you turn JavaScript off or use a browser which doesn't support it in the
first place.

There is a link to an external script as well, but that is a 404 page, not a
real script.

Thank you David. According to a fresh download of the code for the hit
counter, it should have my account number after a ? Something must have
corrupted the page (or the counter's site has changed,) because it was all
there a week ago, and the original code was as it is now..

I didn't think that the alt text made sense. I assume that it was done that
way to avoid spam bots, but the address is already set out before it.

I will have another look at both in the morning.

There is a completely different code now for the Webring. I recently did a
reinstall from a backup, and it was out-of-date. There was an update to
the hit counter code that I hadn't been told about.
