Which Extender are you trying to install?

I assume it must be the Xbox 360? As that is the only Media Center Extender
that will work in Vista at the moment.

Yes it is when i view the event log i get this error message
SqmApiWrapper.TimerRecord failed; Win32 GetLastError returned 10000105

its weird that the extender will not install at all

Hi Joe C:
Vista Home Premium & Utlitmate already contain the needed software to
"add an Xbox 360 Extender". I think you just need to make sure your xbox is
turned on & connected to your home network and then in the Media Center
interface click Tasks>Add An Extender" and follow the instructions. No need
to load the Extender software that was needed in MCE2005. If you did install
the software, probably be a good idea to remove it.........but, I doubt that
Vista would allow the conflicting software to be installed. It won't let me
do anything it doesn't like! LOL
