We're running SBS 2003. Exchange is working, both from Outlook and the web
using OWA. ActiveSync synchs PPCs to Outlook, but not Exchange Server. The
error is 'Your account does not ahve permission to sync with your current
settings' and HTTP_403.

I've tried several of the suggestions about virtual directory paths and
directory security that I've read on various message boards. Under the
Default Web Site, what virtual directories with what paths and directory
security settings are needed for Server ActiveSync?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA

Charles Yang [MSFT] had written a reply on 06/22/2005. I thought I had
responded, but I'm not able to see either his reply or my response. This is
the essence of it:

Charles suggested that I check directory security of exchange-OMA, OMA and
Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync. I responded that I had seen references to these
VD and directory security. Our system does not have an exchange-OMA, but had
assumed that they were refering to another VD. Seeing all three mentioned
together helped to realize that we are missing exchange-OMA VD.

How can we recreate the VD exchange-OMA?

Thanks again,
George

Having the same issue.SBS2003 etc
I've traced it back to the exchange-oma virtual dirctory. If you enable ssl
(properties/directory security/secure communications/edit/require secure
chanel) you can browse this VD from the IIS snapin if you de-selec it
(default and I beleive correct setting), you can't. This seems to point to a
policy issue re requiring SSL locally somehow. Can't find it though... Any
luck from your side?

No. I wish we had. I think Charles may have found at least part of the
problem.
