 Can anyone point me in the right direction to even setup activesync for
exchange server.

I have SBS2003 with exchange server and need to sync with my 02 XDA 11i, but
havent got a clue where to start...

Check this article:

You can skip the configuratio for the AUTD if you don't need it...
