Ok - we have an Exchange 2003 server that has OWA / OMA and
Server-ActiveSync enabled and OWA and OMA both work fine with and without
SSL. However I am unable to get the Server-ActiveSync to work. My clients
(some smartphones that access via ISA 2004 and the published mail server
options) and a bunch of Dell Axims running PPC2003 using 802.11b within the
network all receieve the Error code: HTTP_405. The description states "Your
account does not have permission to sync with your current settings. Contact
your MS Exchange administrator." I verified that all users have the
appropriate accesss rights (enabled) in AD Users and Computers under the
Exchange Features tab and I verified that they can all access OWA/OMA. I
have read some articles about enabling or disabling the Required SSL
connections (I have tried it both ways to no avail). I have also installed
the Root Certifier on all devices to ensure there is no certificate trust
issues. I looked in to KB817379 and KB841060 and neither solution worked.

Any ideas?

Ok - I found a solution. Basically it was an issue with SP1 for =
Exchange. All I had to due was remove the "Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync" =
from with the Exchange System Manager (Under Servers, Protocols, HTTP, =
Exchange Virtual Servers) and then add the virtual directory back with =
the same nameand my problems went away.
