 Every time I boot I get the following message box on both machines.

"We're sorry, but Windows Desktop Search has detected a problem with your
desktop index and cannot continue. Please reinstall MSN Search Toolbar here:
http://toolbar.msn.com."

Any ideas why this keeps happeneing?

 This happened for me when i tried deploying WDS onto a machine that
already had it installed, with Group Policy telling WDS to move the
index file to a network drive. After finding that WDS was indexing the
network drive along with the WDS index file (which was updating the
index...which led to a larger index file....which led to WDS indexing
the index...which was updating the index..etc), I changed the group
policy to move the index back to the default directory.
This is when the same error occured, telling me there was a problem and
try reinstalling.

How to fix? Uninstall WDS/toolbar. Use the Windows Installer Cleanup
utility to get rid of any remnants of it from
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301 , reset
any group policies concerning WDS/toolbar, reboot then reinstall said
software.
