I am using Windows 2000 and the latest Palm OS. Whenever I go to the
Palm calender on the desktop, I get the following error message, after
which the Palm Desktop shuts down.
"Program Error
Palm.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program.

An error log is being created."

I have tried to repair by running the repair feature from the software.
I have also removed the program then downloaded and completed fresh
install. Neither of these options worked.

The Palm Desktop has worked on this computer in the past.

Any suggestions on what to do? Also, where would I find the error log?

you should see the error in windows' event viewer.

I would uninstall again and search the registry for any orphan leftovers
from the program then reinstall. You can find several registry cleaners
out there, some free, that could do this for you...<make a backup first
of course> but make sure you do the uninstall first otherwise it is
pointless.

once you've uninstalled and deleted orphan reg entries, reinstall and see
if that helps.

Is anything else causing a problem like this? If it's win2k you could
also try applying or re-applying service pack.

You have to do the install and your 1st sync as an admin under Windows
2000. Also, right-click on the desktop shortcut, select
Properties->Security and make sure you're listed with all Permissions
checked. The select Advanced and make sure your Permissions are "Full."
