When I open the Media Center {"My TV"} I get the following message "Some of
the files needed to play radio or video are missing or corrupt", it then
tells me to restart my computer or go to "help". I have a Dell 2400 with XP
pro Media Center Edition 2004.
Live tv will not work, the icon recorder does not even highlite, and I have
lost all of my recordings in storage. The only thing that works in "My TV" is
the Guide. the other aspects of the Media center works i.e. "My Pictures, "My
DVD", and "My Music".
I ran A "McAfee virus Sweep" before this problem accured, it did find a few
Viruses and then deleted a number of files. "McAfee Sweep" has never caused a
problem before, but a higher number of files were deleted this time.
I did do a computer system restore to a previous date before the sweep, but
still have the same problem. Any suggestions for my next step? I Thank all of
you in advance for any help.

Put your Windows disk in and do a "repair" - sounds like you are missing
some files.

After you to the repair, be sure to visit Windows Update and get the current
files.
