Error installing lotues notes add-in Jeroni 04-15-2006

 Hi

Installation of lotus notes add-in does not complete under my PC.
It returns some error (1723), telling that some DLL is lacking in windows
installation package. But it does not specify which one is lacking, which
does not not help to fix the issue.

Could somebody help?

 Hi jeroni,

Sorry, but unfortunately this is the problem with the installer and hence
people might not be able to help in that.
But there are 2 things you might want to try/check:
1. Re-Download the Notes plugin from the MS site.
2. If that also does not works, can i ask you which version of Windows are
you running on? If you anything lower than WIN XP SP2, you might face
problems installing it. And if you have WIn XP, jus make sure it has service
pack 2 installed.

Same MsiInstaller error here with Windows 2000 Professional SP4.

Sourde: MsiInstaller
Event ID: 11723

Product: Add-in for Lotus Notes developed by MSN -- Error 1723.There is a
problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install
to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package
vendor. Action SxsInstallCA, entry: CustomAction_SxsMsmInstall, library:
C:\WINNT\Installer\MSI11.tmp

I had the same problem n W2k SP4.

There's no way I could see to find out what DLL is not available that this,
er, self-contained install needs.

I eventually discovered that in order to get past this I had to install MSI
3.1. Its a 2.5Mb download from here ->
http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/4/7/147ded26-931c-4daf-9095-ec7baf996f46/WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
