My husband gets two messages every time he starts his XP Media Edition. They
say "error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\svrfwxre.dll" and error loading
C:\WINDOWS\system32\oicbgghs.dll"
Is this significant? The machine seems to run OK. It just seems to be
annoying. Is there a way to remove the message?
If it is significant, how can it be fixed?
Oh, yes, I checked and the files are indeed missing.
Thanks in advance for any help you provide.

Google returns exactly zero results on those 2 dll files which would make
them suspect in my book. Have you recently removed spy/malware from the
machine? Does this error come up when starting the computer or when starting
the Media Center application? If the former run msconfig and look for
entries in the startup tab referencing those dll files and uncheck them.

Spyware/malware/etc. files.

Although if they're are not loading, they may have been cleaned, but the
command to run them at startup is still present. Use the Run command (on the
Start button), type "msconfig", go to the Startup tab, and uncheck the
offending programs.

There is a chance that you still are infected and the virus has just changed
it name (they are keen to do that), so you need to make sure your
anti-virus/malware software is current and run a complete scan.
