After startup I get the Error loading C:\windows\system 32 \avgmmdpb.dll
the specified module could not be found. ALSO one that says
Error loading C:\windows\system 32\evhrdwkj.dll
the specified module could not be found.
This all started after a virus was downloaded to the computer. I've done
away with the virus now but internet explorer and outlook will shut down, can
I reinstall these two things from my Windows XP disk? And if so , how do I do
it.

Both these dll files are not valid dll files.

I shall suggest you to scan your system with latest versions of
antimalware tools.Run them in Safe mode.

It may be that the virus is gone, but there is still a item in the Startup
looking for them. Use msconfig to see if there is an item in the startup
list, if so uncheck them. It could also be, as S.Sengupta pointed out, that
you still have the virus in place.

You need to establish whether or not your system is truly free of
virus/malware/spyware/etc. before attempting to fix other problems.

Try the MSCONFIG Tool as suggested by Jaime in his reply.
