Hi,

I have OL 2003 and WM5 on a new Ipaq that I just bought. We have exchange in
the office, but I want to sync with the data on my local copy of OL. The
notes will sync, but on calendar, contacts, tasks and email, I get the
following error code: 85010014

Now, to make this interesting, I had this problem when I first got the Ipaq.
I kept trying to sync, playing with different settings and was able to get
it going. I had no clue what I did that worked.

But I had to have the unit sent in for a repair, so I did a clean reset to
take all the data back. When I got the unit back today, the old sync
problem is back, but I can't seem to stumble back into the solution like I
did before. I would appreciate any suggestions before I throw this thing
out the window!

Thanks!
DP

Hi,
Did you install ActiveSync 4.1? It fixes some of the 85010014 errors in
ActiveSync 4.0.

The 85010014 error is a generic catch all for multiple issues.

Yup. I was fighting 4.0 and then realised 4.1 was out... so gleefully I
downloaded it expecting a miracle that didn't come. Unfortunately, this is
my first windows based PDA as of a month or so ago... and I'm disappointed
in the troubles with syncronisation. Maybe I am special in this, but it is
very disappointing to spend so much time trying to get the PDA to talk to my
Laptop. I'm not going to say Palm was better (I have used Palm for seven
years up to this point), because it had it's own sync issues, but nothing
this broken!

85010014 is a server error,
Are you gettin gthis error during your first sync with outlook (while
outlook is in offline mode?)
If so connect your outlook to the server in online mode then sync then put
your outlook back into offline mode

I have the same problem, running OL2003 in cached mode.
Have tried connecting though VPN, sync -> 85010014 client error
Tried running OL in offline mode, sync -> 85010014 client error
Tried sync directly against Exch2003 -> 85010014 server error
