Hello. I recently needed to use dial-up on a Gateway XP MCE which is 2 years
old. 2gb ram, dual processor. I had never used dial-up on it ever. After
booting it will work fine. If I immed. disconnect and redial, it's fine. I
can even do a minute or so of browser work, disconnect, and redial works. But
any more than that and upon redialing, Error 50 comes up. I do not get Error
6, and the other posts I have seen regarding this all mention Error 6 too.
Windows Firewall is off. The modem settings are fine. It's not ZoneAlarm.
Everything seems to be fine. But this is reminiscent of the mid 90s when W95
did this; after you were online, you had to reboot to get back on.

Any ideas?
