Hi All

I'm getting an error message when trying to "copy/convert" an access 2000
database (mdb) to my pocket pc, it says :
"Cannot convert file 'db1'. The remote procedure call failed." (translated
from french : "Echec de la conversion. le module spécifié est
introuvable.").

Appreciate your assistance.

Lavida.

Hi Lavida,

It would aid others to help you if you could also provide the following
information:

* Which version of ActiveSync are you using?
* Which operating system is your Pocket PC running on?

In case you are using Windows Mobile 5.0 device, then the support for ADOCE
was dropped in Windows Mobile 5. Therefore you will not be able to convert
the database files as in earlier version.

Many thanks Raj for this prompt reply.

Here are the versions :
** ActiveSync 4.5
** My Pocket PC (Including a barcode scanner) is an LXE MX7 running
Windows ce 5.0 .

My PPC is connected to my network via wifi, it has an IP address, I'd like
to use this ability when developping (I'd like to put my database in the PPC
to manipulate it from my PC using eVB or WinDev). But now, I'm connecting
the ppc to the pc using USB with the error msg I gave you.

Thanks.

Lavida

Hi Lavida,

I guess you missed my post about lack of support for ADOCE in Windows Mobile
5. Therefore you will not be able to convert the database files (.mdb -
.cdb conversion) in the manner you used to with older Pocket PC devices.

Actually, I'm using Windows CE 5.0 not Windows Mobile 5. It's not the same
thing I guess.
Thanks.
