According to the FAQ of "Windows Desktop Search" the index file can be
encrypted by putting "C:\Program Files\MSN Toolbar Suite\DS" into a directory
encrypted by the Windows Encrypting File System (EFS). Has anyone had
success doing this? I have the Enterprise Windows Desktop Search installed
and I can't even find that file or folder to encrypt it.
Any suggestions or help would be welcome.

Thanks

After reading the "Windows Desktop Search Administration Guide" it lists the
default location for the WDS index as "C:\Documents and
Settings$username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Desktop Search".
Presumably this is the default location and can be encrypted. I'll follow
the guidelines from Microsoft and reply if there are any issues for the
benefit of others.

Actually, I've encrypted that folder ("C:\Documents and
